Dating after Divorce: Divorcees and Dating Services

*Today’s Guest Post is written by Debbie Lamedman  from DatingServices.net.

There are no two ways about it:  divorce is both painful and traumatizing.  The last thing you may want to do after going through a divorce is start perusing dating websites.  Well, it’s best to wait until you are absolutely ready; but when you are, dating websites can be a great way for you to meet new people and move forward with your new, single life.

It may be reassuring to know ...

What about my baggage? Dating after disappointments or divorce

*Today’s guest post is written by Amanda Kidd.

Not every marriage is successful. Often, after marriage, people discover differences among each other that make the relationship difficult. A divorce or separation always comes with a huge amount of baggage, both physical and psychological. It is difficult to deal with the idea that you will have to start with life all over again. It is hard to cut out losses, ...

Black men and marriage-why not?

I was recently a guest on the awesome radio show “One Man One Woman” heard exclusively on Talktainment Radio.  The topic of the day was “Black Men and Marriage.”

The stats show that black men and women are the least likely of any group in America to get married.  What’s going on?  And from what I hear there are plenty of black women willing to tie the knot.  It’s the black men that are holding up the show.

I ...

How to prevent relationship drama

When you have relationships after divorce, it either goes smoothly or it doesn’t.  It usually doesn’t.

When there is drama in a romantic relationship it’s most often caused by insecurity.

Are you constantly wondering what your guy is doing, who he’s with, why he hasn’t called, and when you will see him again?  Don’t lie, it’s nothing to be ashamed of I’ve done it too.  Recently.  (If you could see me, you’ll see me shaking my head in shame.) Why do we ...

There’s nothing wrong with you: dating after divorce advice

This is what I’ve heard from women around the world about what is wrong with them and why dating after divorce will never work for them:

  • I’m too fat
  • I have kids
  • I have stretch marks
  • No one’s going to want a woman in her 50′s
  • No one’s going to want a woman in her 40′s
  • No one’s going to want a woman in her 30′s
  • I have a crazy ex-husband
  • I get along too well with my ex-husband
  • Men don’t find mother’s sexy
  • No one is going to want ...

Be patient girl, be patient!

I talked to one of my clients today.  Always a good time.

She’s dating multiple men at a time, just like Mama Kim taught her.  One of her guys has called every single day since they went out. Except yesterday.  My client, hereby known as “Beth” was pissed off.

Beth told me she couldn’t believe he had the nerve to not call.  Did I mention that this man has been calling every single day for a week and a half?

I told her ...

Dating men for money

I have a family member.  Let’s call her Tammy.

Tammy is a single mother, has a good profession as a nurse and is 30.

Tammy is also adamant that the next man she “get with” have money.

She is dating men for money.  And it’s not right.

When you ask her what she wants in a man she says he has to own his own home, drive an expensive car, rock the latest name brand fashions, and give her stuff.  I never hear that ...

How to get a man to love you (or shot of whiskey no chaser)

Hola!

I was reading this article about networking and the author simply wrote not to chase business.  If someone’s chasing, that means someone is running away.

How perfect is that not only for business but for LOVE!

How do you get a man to love you?  Don’t chase him!

If you’re chasing him–calling him every day, texting often, asking him out on dates, filling up his car with premium gas, asking “where is this relationship going?”, cutting his toenails–you’re chasing.  And he’s running!

You have ...

What are you good at after divorce

My sister told me that one of her friends called me a ham and a riot to hang out with.

I was introduced to my Dad’s friend as the “outgoing” one (my little sis was described as the “diva”-she is awfully fly!)

The guy I’m kinda dating says I overwhelm him-but in a good way.

What do all these statements have in common?  They’re all about me.  And I had never realized it before!

I’ve always been outgoing, fun, and extroverted. I was a ...

Dating with kids-it’s all good.

When I made the humongous decision to move back to Ohio I also made the humongous decision to have my kids remain in school in San Francisco, California.

I told their dad I was moving and presented this to him: we can’t split our kids down the middle, I can no longer afford to live in one of the world’s most expensive cities so one of us has them during the school year, and one of us has them major holidays ...
