As you may or may not know I have been searching for a good relationship since my divorce. Whether that comes from being a tad bit jealous that my ex-husband being in a relationship from the day I told him I was leaving him because of his infidelity (actually, the building’s doorman notified him I was fed up with him, his partying, and his chick on the side when he served my then husband the divorce papers I had filed earlier that week. Ouch!) or because I like to automatically know that I have a date for a Saturday night. All I know is that I wanted a relationship and they were few and far between.
If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile you know about my French lover who lasted all of three months. He was the first man I dated after I separated from my husband and the first guy to break my heart after my husband, by one day just disappearing. To be honest, it wasn’t all his fault (the fact that he wore short pants was) because I pushed for commitment a little too hard. Remember the 6’6 librarian my sister affectionately (and privately) called Dewey Decimal? We were in a “kinda relationship“: met his friends, went to religious services with him, he met my dad, would buy gifts for my boys, (even took me to the hospital with him to meet his friend who had just come out of brain surgery!)…except he didn’t want a commitment. Combined with all the crazy, loser, clingy, and weirdo dates sandwiched in between and after these two I thought it was time to call in someone who knew what she was doing. Because I sure the heck didn’t!
“Hello Suzanne? I need your help bad!” Introducing Suzanne Blake, Relationship Coach. She had been a guest on my radio show, “Kim Hess Divorce Guru” and told me to call her anytime I needed help. It must have been all the hypothetical questions I kept giving her like: “So, let’s say one of my listeners is dating this cute Fren…uh Finnish guy with short pants…?” Suzanne is the president of Blake Coaching and Consulting and a Professional Certified Executive, Career and Relationship Coach . After speaking with her for 5 minutes I knew that this woman knew she was doing.
Stay tuned for the next installment of “The Divorce Guru and the Restless!” In the meantime go schedule your own coaching session w/ Suzanne…you’ll thank me for it!

I love how open you are in your writing. You have a great style. I just started blogging and am being open in my writing. I have seen a lot of blogs that are just facts. I wish you a lot of success in your career.
Michelle,
Thank you for your kind words! When I first started writing and blogging, I tried to be serious and factual but everything I wrote kept coming out funny! I try to be as open as possible in my writing because we all need (and do!) to relate to one another! Good luck!
