A dork in Fox clothing
Brit Hume of Fox News Sunday has told Tiger Woods to drop Buddhism and come to Jesus. Evidently Brit thinks Jesus is much more “forgiving” and “redemptive” than the Buddha. Hmmm, wonder if Buddha or Jesus would win in a mixed martial arts pay-per-view fight?
When I first heard about this story I could not believe it! Well, I could believe it, because 1.) This is Fox New we’re talking about and 2.)People who follow Christianity are always trying to get people who are not Christian to convert. I know that this is one reason why Christians and Christianity are looked upon as arrogant and prejudice. How many times have you heard people say they are “spiritual but not religious?” Heck, I even say that! Why? Because growing up in a Christian household, where I went to church 2 times a week taught me a lot about how my fellow Christians of my childhood looked upon “heathens” or the “non-born again.”
Christianity was the only way to go. Not only were other religions going to hell but other Christians! Baptists were going to hell because they dance, Catholics were going to hell because they drank wine, and Protestants were going to hell because they didn’t speak in tongues (I grew up Pentacostal Christian.) I didn’t understand this rational then and I don’t understand it not. We were encouraged to bring friends to church so they could get “saved”. Saved from what? The world! Now that I’m older I completely agree that everyone does need to be saved from the world. But is the only way to salvation through Christianity? Heck no! Can one not be saved by being a Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, or just plain being compassionate, kind, and believing that a divine power is helping to guide you through the good and bad times of your life? This is the same Christianity that may have you believe that you have failed as a person if you have gotten a divorce. Your Divorce Guru is not saying that all churches, clergy, and participants believe this…just most of them.
And now Brit Hume is telling Tiger Woods (who has lost his wife, family, money, marriage and respect) that he needs to change religions because his isn’t good enough. That only Brit Hume’s god is good enough,

(because you just know that Brit Hume believes God is a man!) the only one who will forgive Tiger, and that Christianity is the only spiritual path that will lead Tiger out of the mess that he’s made. Brit, gotta be frank with you, Jesus is rolling his eyes at you right now!
